Telehealth, such as online therapy, has become popular as a result of the global pandemic. Unfortunately, there are many security risks and ethical concerns that come with doing therapy via the computer. This article discusses some of the ethics behind online therapy and the protective technologies in place today to maintain confidentiality for the client. The article also discusses the ideas of new technologies that can strengthen security in order to reinforce confidentiality.
