Cybertherapy: Advantages, Limitations, and Ethical Issues https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228859436_Cybertherapy_Advantages_Limitations_and_Ethical_Issues It is a known fact that cybertherapy is evolving, especially lately because of the increased demand. This article mentions that cybertherapy has more benefits than drawbacks, but those limitations should still be acknowledged. One inherent issue with online therapy is that it requires expensive technology that some people might not have access to, or might not have the knowledge to use. This in itself could deter someone from seeking help. Another issue stated in this article is that people will have therapy at their fingertips, and try to skip steps in the recovery process rather than going through the entire necessary program. This article also touches on Virtual Reality therapy as another example of cybertherapy that is being explored. This is the first scholarly article on this topic, and it shows short term and long ter...

Online Therapy, Booming During the Coronavirus Pandemic, May Be Here to Stay https://time.com/5883704/teletherapy-coronavirus/ This article differs from the others in that it discusses the potential future of telehealth rather than the ethics of the current existing system. Many forms of medicine require physical interaction, so a long term future of online medicine for professions such as physical therapy, optometry, orthopedists, etc. will not last. Psychotherapy, however, does not necessarily need to be in person. Most clients do benefit from in person therapy, but it is not as much of a functional necessity. Because of this inherent nature of psychotherapy, its online form seems to be here to stay. The technologies need to be perfected, as it is still new, but many are finding that they are getting benefits from online therapy that they did not get from in person therapy. Many people are finding that they feel more comfortable doing therapy via. Zoom because they are in their own h...

Fired Over Facebook

Fired Over Facebook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCH33TgK8Mw 1.  What is your initial reaction to this story? I was honestly not surprised by this story. Unfortunately, what we post has the potential to follow us forever, so we have to be conscious of what we are posting.  2.  What reason did the employer provide for firing this person? The employer fired Mr Busch because he expressed opinion on the shooting in Tuscan. He defended the woman that was shot, but the company was uncomfortable with the fact that he publicly took an opinion.  3.  Was the firing legal?  Why? It is legal because employers have the right to snoop on people’s social media pages as long as they are public. If they find something that they consider objectionable, they can act as they see fit. If you are not working for the government, you generally have no free speech rights.  4.  What do you think is meant by the term Digital Footprint? A digital footprint is the trail t...

Hello World

Hello, My name is Alex Agnifilo and I am 23 years old. I have been an online student here at Marist for over a year now, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I am technically a Sophomore, but I do not do well at keeping track of where I am. Other than doing school full time, I am also a horse trainer, and I take care of my three dogs (which feels like a full time job). Also, I have a twin sister, and she graduated from Cazenovia College. I am looking forward to this class, Alex Agnifilo
