This article mentions that cybertherapy has more benefits than drawbacks, but those limitations should still be acknowledged. One inherent issue with online therapy is that it requires expensive technology that some people might not have access to, or might not have the knowledge to use. This in itself could deter someone from seeking help. Many forms of medicine require physical interaction, so a long term future of online medicine for professions such as physical therapy, optometry, orthopedists, etc. will not last. Psychotherapy, however, does not necessarily need to be in person. Most clients do benefit from in person therapy, but it is not as much of a functional necessity.
